Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the BlueHour app ("BlueHour", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to the BlueHour iOS app and to the web content shown inside it.
Summary
- Your photos, collages, footprints, trips and map data are processed and saved on your device. We do not upload them.
- If you create an account, we store your account details and the profile you enter, such as nickname, gender, birthday and profile photo.
- We use Adjust and Meta (Facebook) to measure which ads bring people to the app. Advertising identifiers are only collected if you allow tracking.
- We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send notifications.
- You can delete your account at any time from the app.
Information stored only on your device
BlueHour reads the photos you pick, including their date and location data, to arrange them into footprint collages and place them on the map. Collages, footprints, trips, cities and statistics are created and kept on your device. They are not sent to our servers. Exported backups are files you create and control.
If you allow location access, your current location is used on the device to show where you are on the map. We do not store your location on our servers.
Information you give us
- Account details: your email address and password if you sign in with email, or the identifiers Apple provides if you use Sign in with Apple. If you choose to hide your email with Apple, we only receive the relay address.
- Profile: nickname, gender, birthday and, if you add one, a profile photo. Your profile photo is uploaded to our servers.
- Content you submit in web features: some features are shown as web pages inside the app. Text you enter there, and photos or videos you choose to share there, are sent to our servers to provide those features.
- Messages you send to our support address.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information: a device identifier created by the app, device model, operating system version, app version, language and time zone. This is used to keep you signed in, secure your account and troubleshoot problems.
- Push notification token: if you allow notifications, a token from Apple and Firebase Cloud Messaging is linked to your account so we can send you notifications.
- Attribution and advertising data: Adjust and the Meta (Facebook) SDK receive app installs, app opens and device information to tell us which ads led to an install. If you allow tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, they may also receive your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you do not allow tracking, the advertising identifier is not collected.
- Network information: like any internet service, our servers and service providers receive your IP address when the app connects to them.
How we use information
- To create and maintain your account and profile.
- To provide app features, including web features inside the app.
- To send notifications you have allowed.
- To measure the performance of our advertising.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To respond to your requests and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers
We share information only with service providers that help us run BlueHour, and only for the purposes above:
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, push notification delivery, Apple Maps and place-name lookup.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: push notifications.
- Adjust: install attribution.
- Meta Platforms (Facebook SDK): install attribution and ad measurement.
- OpenStreetMap: map tiles. Tile requests include your IP address and the map area being viewed.
- Hosting and cloud storage providers that run our servers.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
Data retention
We keep your account and profile while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your account and profile from our servers, except where we must keep limited information to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Deleting your account also clears BlueHour data on that device. Data kept by Adjust and Meta follows their own retention policies.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: open My, then Settings, then Delete Account.
- Edit your profile in the app at any time.
- Location, photos, camera, notifications and tracking can be turned on or off in iOS Settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us at the address below to make a request.
Children
BlueHour is intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
